Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion
The Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion was created within the U.S. Department of Agriculture on December 1, 1994, and reports to the Office of the Under Secretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services. CNPP’s mission is to improve the health of Americans by developing and promoting dietary uidance that links scientific research to the nutrition needs of consumers.
Partnership for Prevention

Shape up America! Is a not-for-profit organization committed to raising awareness of obesity as a health issue and to providing responsible information on healthy weight management.
My Plate
MyPlate was developed by Nutrition Policy and Promotion, an organization of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as an effort to promote healthy eating to consumers. The MyPlate icon is easy to understand and it helps to promote messages based on the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The new MyPlate icon, replaces the Food Pyramid guidelines and builds on a familiar image — a plate — and is accompanied by messages to encourage consumers to make healthy choices.
